Refund Policy

Returns and Refunds Last updated: 7 April 2026

This policy applies to purchases made through The Rules of Golf Vintage Limited (Company Number: 17140385), 52 High Street, Pinner, United Kingdom, HA5 5PW. It should be read alongside our Terms of Service, which set out the nature of the pre-owned and vintage goods we sell.

Our Returns Window

We accept return requests made within 14 days of the date your order is delivered. Because every item in our archive is a one-of-a-kind vintage find, we ask that you inspect your order carefully on arrival and contact us promptly if anything is not right.

To be eligible for a return, the item must be returned in the same condition in which it was received - unwashed, unaltered and unmodified since delivery. Proof of purchase is required in all cases.

What You Are Purchasing

All items sold by The Rules of Golf Vintage Limited are pre-owned and vintage. Before placing an order, please read Section 2 of our Terms of Service carefully. In summary:

  • Vintage items will show signs of wear, fading, pilling, minor marks, or other characteristics consistent with their age and prior use. These are inherent to secondhand goods and are not defects.
  • We did not manufacture any item we sell and cannot independently verify its precise materials, dyes, coatings, or chemical composition. Some items may have been made using materials or processes that predate current regulatory standards.
  • Vintage sizing does not correspond reliably to contemporary sizing. Label sizes are indicative only.

Returns will not be accepted on the basis of characteristics that are inherent to the pre-owned and vintage nature of the goods, where those characteristics were disclosed or reasonably apparent at the point of sale. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by this.

Allergic Reactions and Sensitivities

If you have known allergies, skin sensitivities, or reactions to particular materials, dyes, or treatments, you accept responsibility for determining whether an item is suitable for you before purchase. We recommend all items are laundered/washed before first wear. Returns cannot be accepted on the grounds of an allergic reaction or skin sensitivity where we have not been negligent.

How to Start a Return

Contact us at theclubhouse@therulesofgolfvintage.com before sending anything back. Returns sent without prior written authorisation will not be accepted and may be returned to sender at your cost.

Once your request is approved, we will provide instructions on where to send your item. Please note that return postage is your responsibility in all cases unless the item is faulty or was incorrectly sent. We recommend using a tracked service, as we cannot accept responsibility for items lost in transit on the way back to us.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged, or if the wrong item has been sent, contact us immediately attheclubhouse@therulesofgolfvintage.com with your order details, a description of the issue, and photographs of the original packaging and the item itself. We will assess the situation and resolve it as quickly as possible.

Please note that general vintage wear - including fading, pilling, minor pulls, shrinkage, or age-related marks - does not constitute damage for the purposes of this clause, where such characteristics were visible in the product photography or otherwise disclosed prior to purchase.

Items We Cannot Accept Back

The following are not eligible for return under our policy:

  • Gift cards
  • Items that have been washed, altered, or modified after delivery
  • Items returned without prior written authorisation
  • Returns based solely on the inherent vintage characteristics of the goods, including wear, fading, or sizing variance, where disclosed or reasonably apparent at the point of sale

A note on sale and discounted items: your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and your 14-day cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014 apply equally to items purchased at a reduced price. A discounted price does not affect your legal rights. However, our voluntary goodwill returns policy - covering returns beyond the statutory minimum - does not extend to items purchased at a sale or discounted price.

UK and EU Cooling-Off Rights

If your order is delivered within the United Kingdom or European Union, you have the right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014 to cancel your order within 14 days of receipt without providing a reason. You must notify us within that 14-day period at theclubhouse@therulesofgolfvintage.com.

The item must be returned in the same condition as received - unwashed and unaltered - with proof of purchase. Return postage is your responsibility and will not be reimbursed, unless the item is faulty or was incorrectly sent. We reserve the right to make a deduction from any refund where the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of handling beyond what is necessary to inspect them.

Refund Processing

Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will notify you of the outcome within a reasonable time. Approved refunds are processed to your original payment method within 10 business days of that notification. Please allow additional time for your bank or card provider to post the credit to your account.
